Gospel: John 21:15-19
“Feed my lambs, feed my sheep.”
If you went into your bathroom, closed the door and stared at yourself in the mirror, who would be looking back? Do we really know who we are? Some people do this on a regular basis as a kind of reality check in an attempt to keep themselves grounded.
Fr. Richard Rohn, OFM, once told a convention of diaconate directors that after they ask themselves who they are, they might also want to ask themselves “whose” they are. Who do we belong to? Who do we follow?
Like Saints Peter and Paul in today’s Gospel, we too are part of the rock upon which the church is built, and indeed the keys to the kingdom of heaven are promised to us all.
