11/23/08 Christ the King
The Son of Man will sit upon his glorious throne and he will separate them one from another.
The words of Shakespeare dance from the lips of Juliet as she pines for her lover, Romero: “When he shall die, take him and cut him out in stars, and he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night, and pay no worship to the garish sun.”
Such words will dance from our lips when we see Jesus - not cut out in stars, but coming as the glorious King with his vast retinue of angels gathered about him. Jesus’ radiant glory will make the face of heaven so fine that neither night nor day will matter. In his flood of light and joy, we will face the shadows of our own accountability.
