“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven. . .” Matthew 7:21
We may very well call Jesus, “Lord, Lord.” But, if we do so we must also acknowledge and accept that our Lord is the Creator of all we are, will be and all we have (both spiritual and temporal). Indeed, He has given us so many gifts. We are called, as stewards, to manage our gifts prudently and share them in justice and love with others. In doing so we fulfill Jesus’ wish for us, “Only those who do the will of my Father will enter the Kingdom.” Just saying “Lord, Lord” might not get us in.
