SEVENTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
7/26/09 Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Gospel: John 6:1-15
“He distributed as much as they wanted to those who were reclining.”
If Jesus were to perform his miracles today, he would be wanted by the FDA for turning water into wine without an alcohol permit; the EPA for killing fig trees; the AMA for practicing medicine without a license; and the health department for opening graves, for raising the dead, and for today’s miraculous feeding of 5,000 people in the wilderness without following proper food safety requirements. Today’s Gospel about the feeding of the 5,000 tells us that God is not limited to the possible, he can do the impossible.
