CHRISTMAS
The birth of Jesus this day is a miracle within a miracle. It is no wonder that the “stork” story is a convenient alternative for young children. If you stop and think about it, the miracle of birth makes about as much sense as any absurd story we have ever heard. The birth of Jesus is even more difficult to comprehend. We encounter angels and wise men and a blazing star in the night sky. We stand breathless before the crib that contains an infant child who is simultaneously the creator of the Universe. We reel with the knowledge that he was before the beginning of time and will be after the end of all time. His power crosses all the dimensions of space. It races ahead, beyond the galaxies to the farthest star and on into infinity.
