THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

FOCUS: Only those who truly know their need of God will come humbly to trust in his word.
Today’s Gospel shows the difference in the prayer of the Pharisee and the tax collector. If we look at ourselves, we are likely to realize that both figures live within us. Yet, as we are reminded of in today’s readings, we, as disciples, can nurture true humility by honoring every person and seeing how our shared humanity reflects our Creator.
