THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD

FOCUS: Jesus, the beloved Son of God, is revealed to be the one sent by God to bring salvation.
We recognize the servant of God, prophesied by Isaiah, as Jesus of Nazareth who comes to John ad requests baptism. John knows that he is not worthy to baptize Jesus. A voice declares: This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. We are to imitate Him. He is our guide so that God will be well pleased with us.
