400 South Adams Ave. Rayne, La 70578

Dear Parents,

Before you register your teen below I wanted to give you a little information.

On June 21-26, 2021, St. Joseph Life Teen will be bringing 9 girl and 9 boy teens along with 3-4 adult leaders to the foothills of Tiger GA, at Camp Covecrest.

This registration is on a first come first serve basis. Once 9 girls or 9 boys have registered and the respective gender is full, any additional teens of that gender will be put on a waiting list. In the event that one of the genders does not meet its full registration limit, then the opposite gender will be filled from the waiting list first. If you are put on the waiting list, your deposit will be held until your spot is confirmed. If your spot is dropped your deposit will be returned to you. Refunds for dropped spots will not be granted unless spot is filled.

The total cost of camp is over $700 per teen. $560 for the camp and the remainder for the bus. However, we are asking that participants pay $350 for the week and the “Envelope Fundraiser” held throughout the month of January will be entirely used to offset the cost of Covecrest, as well as our Jambalaya Sale on Palm Sunday. We have made arrangements to spread your payments out over a three month period. Once registered and deposit is paid additional payments will begin in February and will be $100 per month with a final payment of $50 in April. Please keep in mind that the $350 registration fee is contingent on us raising enough funds during our two fundraisers. If funds aren’t raised to the fullest extent participants will be required to pay the difference. Additional fundraisers are a possibility, but will be managed by participants.

What is Covecrest?
Covecrest is a camp owned by Life Teen International. It is located in the mountains of Tiger, Georgia, about an hour-and-a-half north of Atlanta, near the border of South Carolina. The camp stays open all year long with the summer being their busiest time for retreats. There are 10 weeks for the summer portion of the camp starting in June and ending in August. Each week the camp holds around 250+ campers and chaperones.

What will they do?
While the teens are there they will experience a week long retreat like no other, including mass every day, sessions designed just like our Life Teen nights here at St. Joseph, praise and worship, confession, and talks from some of the biggest names in Catholic youth ministry. They will be given tools and resources to develop a true relationship with Christ that they can bring back and grow at our parish. We will also be going white water rafting on the Chattooga River,  and teens will have the opportunity to swim in a lake, play multiple sports and activities during free time, have messy games, and, my personal favorite, complete the ropes course where they will be tested physically and spiritually!

How will they get there?
We have 22 spots on a 55 passenger bus with Holy Cross Life Teen in Lafayette. The bus ride will be roughly 14 hours. We will leave Sunday, June 20th. Location for drop-off and pick up will be determined at a later time.

What about Covid-19 regulations and guidelines?
We are in communication with Life Teen and the Diocese of Lafayette to ensure that we are following all rules and regulations, a lot of which we just won’t know until the trip gets closer. This information will be regularly updated and sent to all teens registered and their parents as we get closer to June.

If you have any questions on anything, including price, camp, the bus, please contact me and I’ll be happy to answer your questions. You may also go to www.lifeteen.com/camps/camp-covecrest for more information.

This registration form below is, of course, a simple one to reserve your spot. There will be further registration information and medical details required at a later time. This just helps us get the process going to space out payments.

God Bless!
