TRINITY SUNDAY
“Baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
When Jesus sent the disciples out to all the world, they must have been fearful of such a monumental task. They might have wanted more than his assurance that he would be with them to the end. The disciples needed to realize that the task ahead of them was never as great as the power behind them. They also needed to know that the will of God would never take them to a place where the grace of God would not protect them. And, finally, if they felt unqualified, they needed to realize that God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called. The same wisdom applies to us in our time and place.
