Baptism, the Eucharist, and the Sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the “sacraments of Christian initiation,” whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For “by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” (CCC #1285) Confirmation is a ministry open to students who are parishioners of St. Joseph Parish. By directive of Bishop Deshotel, starting this Spring of 2023, we will begin the transition of Confirmation in 11th grade to the 8th grade. We will confirm gradesgrades 8 and 9 in the Spring. Thereafter, everyone will be confirmed in the 8th grade. Kristina Lavergne will be the leader/coordinator of Confirmation prep until we have fully transitioned to the 8th grade. If you have any questions, she can be reached at her email: klavergne@ndpios.com or you can call Fr Brent at the parish office. IMPORTANT DATES FOR THIS SPRING CONFIRMATION PREP
