33rd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

In a “Bizarre” cartoon, a Mayan artist shows the chief his new calendar wheel.  He explains, “I only had enough room to go up to 2012.” The mayan chief laughs and says “That’ll freak somebody out someday!”

End of the world predictions have freaked out a lot of people over the centuries. In today’s Gospel, even Jesus does not know when it will occur. The scriptures say there will be signs but that not even the Son knows when it will happen, only the Father. So we must live fully, because each day could be our last.
