2ND SUNDAY IN ADVENT

The Gospel today takes us down to the banks of the Jordan River, where we encounter John, the “herald in the desert.” John is a wild-looking man whom God sustains by providing grasshoppers and honey for his food.
God sent John the Baptist to announce the coming of Jesus. In the same way, God calls each of us to fulfill some mission in our life. You may already know the one in your life who was your “personal prophet” – the one who announced Jesus to you. And someday you may be that “John the Baptist” to someone you know.
