Pope improvises prayer at Mass for typhoon Survivors
Pope Francis improvised a special prayer at the end of the Holy Mass celebrated for the survivors of the typhoon Haiyan at Tacloban, Philippines on Saturday. Praying spontaneously in Spanish with an aide translating it simultaneous in English, he filled the hearts of the survivors with gratitude and hope.
Here below is the English translation of the Pope’s prayer:
We have just celebrated the passion, death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus preceded us, he went there before us on the journey. And he accompanies us every time we come together to pray and to celebrate. Thank you Lord you being with us today. Thank you Lord for sharing in our pain. Thank you Lord for giving us this opportunity. Thank you Lord for your great mercy. Thank you Lord for wishing to be like one of us. Thank you Lord because you are always near to us even in the moments of the cross. Thank you Lord for giving us hope. Lord may hope never be taken away from us. Thank you Lord for in the darkest moments of your life, on the cross, you remembered us and you left us a Mother, your Mother. Thank you Lord for not leaving us as orphans.
